Religious Pi

The most striking thing, for me, that connected the buildup to after the inciting incident, was the use of so many religious symbols as description for the things he saw. When describing how Orange Juice looked after she was killed, he said that she looked like Christ hanging upon the cross, that was an excellent way for me to get a feeling for what he meant. He described the cans of water as the "wine of life." Or when he makes a list of things that he has aboard, he adds "1 God" to the list. Things like that really connect how he was, to how he is.
